Local Mission Project

A Community Restoration Initiative

Local Mission is a quarterly neighborhood restoration project led by Two Trees Church's

Community Outreach Center (COC), focused on serving the Westside of Ventura. Rooted in the

COC’s vision to see individuals and communities restored—marked by safe and clean streets,

sobriety, resources, and spiritual transformation—Local Mission offers practical help and

spiritual hope to those in need.

The COC selects a local property or family facing significant challenges and mobilizes

volunteers to clean, repair, and restore the space—while also offering prayer, worship, and

spiritual support. Our first Local Mission took place on March 22 at the corner of Ramona and

Olive Street, where a condemned and overtaken property was completely transformed through

yard work, painting, debris removal, and intercession.

We’re now inviting Westside residents to nominate a Local Mission project—whether it’s helping

an elderly neighbor with yard cleanup, building disability access, removing trash or graffiti, or

assisting a single mom or family in need of home repairs. Together, we’re committed to being

the hands and feet of Jesus in our neighborhood—restoring homes, hearts, and hope.

Case for Support: Local Mission – Bringing Hope Home

The Problem:

On the Westside of Ventura, many properties have fallen into disrepair—whether due to

poverty, age, disability, or systemic barriers. Elderly residents, single parents, and hardworking

families often lack the resources to maintain their homes or address unsafe living conditions.

These neglected spaces become targets for crime, squatting, and city condemnation,

deepening the cycle of brokenness in the neighborhood.

The Solution:

Local Mission is a quarterly, volunteer-driven initiative by Two Trees Church’s Community

Outreach Center (COC) that offers free property restoration and spiritual support to our

Westside neighbors in need. From trash removal, painting, and landscaping to minor

construction and prayer ministry, each project transforms a home and uplifts the people who live

there.

The Impact:

Our first Local Mission took place in March at the corner of Ramona and Olive, where

volunteers cleaned up a condemned lot, removed a burned RV and car, restored the yard, and

covered the space in worship and prayer. What was once overrun and unsafe became a place

of peace and new possibility. Each Local Mission is a tangible expression of God’s

love—renewing properties, restoring dignity, and releasing hope across the Avenue.

The Invitation:

You can be part of the transformation.

  • Nominate a need: Know someone on the Westside who could benefit? Encourage them to apply.

  • Join a project: Bring your hands, heart, and hammer—we need volunteers!

  • Give generously: Your support helps cover supplies, hauling, materials, and more.

Together, we’re restoring what’s broken—one property, one family, and one prayer at a time.
